Edification is a crucial part of the KAPi experience. While you may walk in with zero debating experience and no knowledge of the LSAT, we can guarantee that KAPi will provide you with some basic skills needed for a successful career in the law.
With KAPi, you’ll take part in debates with your class about current events and issues pertaining to the law. This exercise doesn’t aim to test your knowledge of the law, but rather helps you exercise your critical thinking and public speaking skills under high-pressure settings. We also host mock trials where class members group together to bring a case against any active KAPi member. The lighthearted themes take the ease off of the KAPi “lawyers” and instead create a fun activity for all KAPi members to attend.
Finally, after your first semester with KAPi, edification opportunities open up to include LSAT prep meetings where experienced members walk through their tips and strategies for acing the test.
Throughout the edification process, KAPi encourages risk-taking and fosters a supportive, rather than competitive, environment. Members across all class years enjoy watching one another step outside their comfort zones and grow in confidence.
